Short: Use your iPod Shuffle with your Amiga Author: Thomas Meigel Uploader: amishuffle mnet-online de (Thomas Meigel) Type: util/misc Version: 0.7.0 Replaces: util/misc/amiShuffle_0.6.0.lha Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.1 Kurz: Nutzen Sie Ihren iPod Shuffle unter AmigaOS -------------------------------------------------------------------------- amiShuffle 0.7.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- With amiShuffle you can (re-)build the database of your iPod shuffle to manage your shuffle like other USB MP3 players with your Amiga. You simply copy MP3 files onto your iPod shuffle. Then you only need to run amiShuffle after you added or removed files from your iPod. Therefore it is not necessary to use iTunes or similar programs in order to add or remove music files to your iPod shuffle. Please send suggestions and bug reports to: amishuffle@mnet-online.de -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage -------------------------------------------------------------------------- First initialize your iPod shuffle with iTunes. This is needed to create the file structure and some database entries. Future versions of amiShuffle will support the initialization of an empty iPod shuffle. Then move your music files to the shuffle. Your can store them direct in the root or in any (sub-)directory. And at last just call amiShuffle to generate the proper iTunes-database entries. Use the following syntax to call amiShuffle: amiShuffle [] [-v ] device name of your iPod shuffle, e.g. "ipod:" The device name must have a trailing slash (/) or colon (:). (optional) path where your music files are stored, e.g."music/favorites". If you set no amiShuffle uses to search for music. -v (optional) sets the volume for . The volume range is 0 (lowest) to 200 (highest). Values out of this range will be ignored. The default value set by iTunes is 100. If you do not specify any volume value, amiShuffle will read the previous setting from the iTunesSD database. example: amiShuffle ipod: albums/Exiter -v Freelove.mp3 150 Please make sure, that your stack size is at least 20.000 bytes. If you are using a small stack increase its size (STACK 20000). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any Amiga with USB (works also fine with OS 4.0). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usefull Links -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ipodlinux.org/ITunesDB -------------------------------------------------------------------------- History -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.7.0 volumes release new features: - supports volume setting for every music file - changed amiShuffle internal structure to support other iPod versions in the future bugfixes: - fixed bug, when playing .aac files 0.6.0 official release features: - supported filetypes: mp3, aac, wav - deletes iTunesStats, iTunesPState and iTunesShuffle files if necessary 0.5.0 (first) non-official release dosent support any input-parameter -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Future plans -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.8.0 add support of stop- and start-time for every file 0.9.0 scan multiple directories for music 1.0.0 initialize empty iPod shuffles 1.1.0 add (basic) support for other iPod versions (e.g. iPod, iPod nano) 1.5.0 add GUI 1.6.0 add (full) audiobooks support -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer -------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS.
