 Introduction

 This is a datatype for IFF PBM pictures. IFF PBM is a chunky
 version of IFF pictures. Please don't confuse IFF PBM with
 portable Bitmap (NetPBM), which is not in the scope of this
 datatype.

 IFF PBM was used by the DOS Version of Deluxe Paint. This
 datatype supports images with a depth of up to 8.


 Installation

 At most two files need to be copied for installation: the
 datatypes descriptor (IFFPBM) and the datatype class 
 (iffpbm.datatype). A reboot is usually performed to enable 
 the new datatype (alternative: "Adddatatypes refresh" in Shell).

 Limitations / Troubleshooting

 A number of workarounds have been incorporated in order to
 attempt loading of pictures with deficiencies. How far these
 measures work remains to be seen.

 IFF PBM is supposed to carry 24 Bit data, too. Unfortunately,
 I wasn't able to obtain pictures of this type to test with. As
 a consequence, 24 Bit IFF PBM support is not included in this
 release. I'm willing to update the datatype with 24 Bit support,
 once I get hold of respective test images.


 CPU compatibility

 The datatype is an all-in-one binary for any 68k Amiga. Some
 68020+ optimizations are enabled at runtime, if applicable.
