Short: Converts ToolManager configfiles to an ASCII representation and back. Author: fillg1@uni-paderborn.de Uploader: fillg1 uni-paderborn de Type: wb20/util Architecture: m68k-amigaos Have you ever tried to move your ToolManager-icons directory to another place ? Did you rename your Harddisk or got a bigger one ? Did your index finger get tired of endless clicking only to change he path of 42 icons ? Here's the solution -- TM2Ascii. TM2Ascii will read a ToolManager configfile, translate it to an ASCII (readable!) file, now you can edit the filenames, e.g. find&replace all occurences of "Progs:Utilities/" to "Work:Utilities" etc. After editing, use TM2Ascii again to convert the ASCII file back to Toolmanager format. It is recommended only to change pathnames, although you can edit >any< parameter in the converted configfile, but you have to read and understand both ToolManager and TM2Ascii sources to do this. . Most of the TM2Ascii sourcecode was `written` by cut&paste from the original Tool- Manager sources, so its quite readable. Thanks to Stefan Becker !! USAGE TM2Ascii ENV:ToolManager.prefs ToolManager.config This command will read the ToolManager configfile and write an Ascii representation to your HardDisk as ToolManager.config TM2Ascii ENV:ToolManager.prefs ToolManager.config WRITE This command writes ToolManager.config back to ENV:ToolManager.prefs. You should use another filename for the new prefsfile, or backup you configfile to avoid accidents.
