Short: Scripts to 'GUIfy' SFSCheck error reporting. Author: Glen Shannon Uploader: Glen Shannon Type: util/batch Requires: Workbench 3.0+ (although I'm not too certain) Architecture: m68k-amigaos ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a collection of short scripts and associated icons which do nothing more, nothing less than automate checking of SFS drives for errors. Now you can safely forget about manually checking your SFS drives every time you switch on :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- #?ware: It's visitware and guestbookware (not that I would TRY to charge for them and crippleware would be pointless). :) This means that using these scripts requires nothing more than visiting my homepage and signing my guestbook at http://www.dryad.clara.net :) It would also be good if you decided to follow my links about autism and AutiRing, but that's optional. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: There's no installer script. I assume that anybody proficient enough to install an alternative filesystem can certainly manually move files and edit the s:startup-sequence. To install, copy CLONE (from this hierarchy) s/TestSFS_DH? to S: and also copy CLONE WBStartup/TestSFS_results_DH?.info (where ? of course represents your SFS drive(s). You will need to install one for every SFS drive. You MUST copy the icons, otherwise the scripts generated for WBStartup will not execute. I've only done scripts and icons for DH0: to DH7: If you have more DH?: drives, or if your drives are called SFS?: or HD?: or something, you'll have to edit the script(s) and rename the icon(s) yourself. Sorry, but it isn't difficult. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage: This also requires further installation. All you need to do is type the following into your s:startup-sequence; S:TestSFS_DH? ...for every SFS drive you have. This must be placed after your SFS drives are mounted and after T: is assigned. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why did I upload this ?: Because I have had to write hundreds of tiny little scripts in the past to execute admittedly simple functions. I would prefer to have been lazy and just downloaded something ready-made. Anyway, this script is slightly more complex than most of my other ones (this script generates a second script), so it might be a little advanced of beginners writing AmigaDOS scripts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes: This script uses Requestchoice and Multiview. Requestchoice is neccessary but calls to Multiview can be easily replaced with eg, muchmore or textview. If I recall, that would mean this script can only work on WB3.0 and above. Please correct me if I am wrong. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- .readme ends :)
