Short: Beautiful artistic DOpus screengrab Author: -whiskas@geocities.com (Daniel Hansen) Uploader: -whiskas geocities com (Daniel Hansen) Type: pix/wb Version: 1.0 (07.08.1998) Architecture: generic A screenshot of my 1032x768 16bit DOpus Magellan. It's very nice, if I my may say so myself, but then again, all uploaders of their own screengrabs seem to brag shamelessly about their desktops. :) What makes my desktop stand out are the my strange, but well-made 256-colour icons, and the way the background picture and the icons are integrated into one design. I've also taken use of Executive's Dashboard program, to produce the monitors at the bottom left corner (displaying RAM usage, a CPU histogram and a counter), as well as the CPU percentage count to the right. I've drawn all icons (the partition icons (top left), the DOpus toolbar, the small FTP buttons and the weird transparent icons at the bottom) except from the big internet buttons in the top left corner, which is ripped from a screengrab by Hyrax. The background picture is rendered by Ben from the Rockethouse hompage. If you now think that all this is faked in the way that i've drawed on the screengrab, think again. I've made an ImageFX arexx script that takes care of most of the effects on the background picture. The last addition to the background picture was the pen and pencil-drawn icons at the bottom, which i've used the layers function in ArtEffect. But since ImageFX also has layers, I hope it will be easy implementing this in the ifx script as well. The reason the titlebar has a shine and shadow pen is thanks to VisualPrefs 1.4, and the patterns in the window frames are hacked in by Birdie 1.5. You can download my icons (at the moment, only the partition ones) at http://members.xoom.com/whi/desktop.html
