Short: Italy 633x 426 Architecture: generic A mosaic in St. Mark's Basilica, Venice. The whole of the interior of St. Mark's is covered in a riot of golden mosaics, ranging from 11th-century Byzantine works to rather dull 19th century pieces. I don't know how old this one is, but I'd say it's somewhere in the middle - it looks vaguely late medieval. (Chris Owen - tr95006@sable.ox.ac.uk)
