Short: R3Dv3.3 waves, mud, rocks. Author: cbgallan@is2.dal.ca (Colin B. Gallant) Uploader: cbgallan is2 dal ca (Colin B Gallant) Type: pix/real3 Architecture: generic This image is made entirely of texturemaps and flat rectangles! Its got a clip map, a colored bumpmap, a "caustic map" and another bump map. Not quite as real as I'd like it but I'm getting there... This is a little example generated with the help of a wave simulation program which generates a standard bumpmap texture to simulate realistic water. It computes the dynamic of the waves over time from 2 bitmap input files. One bitmap represents the obstacles in the water. The second represents the starting configuration for the water. I still have to add variable bitmap inputs for moving objects in the water, and maybe some hooks in RPL to interact with the program in real time... perhaps taking advantage of the particle animation system. This picture depicts a circular wave disturbance in the left after it has impingined upon a set of rocks also reflecting off the borders of the scene. By the way there is also a "caustic map" in this picture. If anyone has any comments, suggestions or questions: I'm at cbgallan@is2.dal.ca. Colin
