Short: OFFICIAL NewIcons Image Set (500+icons) Author: r.mcvey@genie.geis.com (Roger McVey) Uploader: vedovatt u washington edu (Philip A Vedovatti) Type: pix/icon Architecture: generic N E W I C O N S X T R A I C O N S # 1 This is the official supplemental icon set #1 for the NewIcons package. It contains over 500 NewIcon images for everything from games to DTP to the Video Toaster. All images were hand drawn by artist Roger McVey. Use the CopyNewIcon utility supplied with the NewIcons package to install them onto your system. Usage is outlined in the NewIcons Amigaguide documentation file. If you are not running the NewIcons system, you will not be able to see these icon images -- they will only appear as tiny squares. The NewIcons system is written by Nicola Salmoria and is available via Internet FTP from any Aminet site (such as wuarchive.wustl.edu) as pub/aminet/util/wb/NewIcons.lha The NewIcons system allows the Amiga user to use icons that look color correct on any AGA system, independent of the workbench palette settings. Up to 256 color icons are supported. The icons included in this package use the default NewIcons palette so as to not use up all of your workbench allocated pens. The default NewIcon images use 14 colors. Also packaged with NewIcons is Deficons, which supplies default images for dozens of different file types without icons and will select the user-defined default tool for you when you click on the icon. NewIcons works with OS2.0+ as well, with a 16 color icon limitation. The first set of NewIcons backdrops has been released, and more are on the way. The first set contains over 100 NewIcons seamless backdrops which are compatible with the NewIcons default palette. Roger is hard at work creating an image Editor for the NewIcons system. Stay tuned.
