ABOUT
-----

 SnesMUI is a MUI based GUI for launching the Snes9x emulator. The program
 supports Command-Line syntax of both 1.4x and 1.5x versions of Snes9x.


FEATURES
--------

 - The most important emulation options are configurable within the GUI
 - A custom arguments option to configure any other Command-Line options
 - Shows preview and cover images of games if available
 - Supports Zip archived ROM files
 - Automatic detection of the emulator version
 - Supports custom graphics in the GUI


INSTALLATION
------------

 Minimal installation:
 1) Copy the whole directory anywhere you want and just launch the program
 2) Configure GUI paths in the Settings tab (at least for Snes9x exe and ROMs)

 Preferred installation (full feature set with no configuration needed):
 1) To easily get previews, covers, and GUI graphics, download and unpack the
    following archive to your HD:
    http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=emulation/gamesystem/snes9x.zip
 2) Download Snes9x *) and copy its exe/conf into the directory as-in "Step 1"
 3) Copy the SnesMUI executable into the same directory too
 4) Copy some SNES ROM files into the "Roms-Universal" directory

 *) Notes about the Snes9x emulator:
    - There are currently two different versions of Snes9x available at:
      https://www.morphos-storage.net/?find=snes
    - The older 1.43 seems to be much faster and supports overlay
    - The newer 1.53 has more advanced features like video filters and
      controller options
    - Configure the executable path from the Settings tab in the GUI if you
      install 1.43 or want to switch between versions


USAGE NOTES
-----------

 - The GUI is hidden when the emulator is running, but it will re-appear when
   you quit the emulation (by pressing Esc or q keys)
 - Program settings can be saved by selecting the Save option in the program's
   pull-down menu
 - The settings will be saved to the ENVARC:MUI/SNESMUI.cfg file
