Short: Patch GPFax 2.347 Class 2 to 2.350 Author: GPSoftware Uploader: Matt_H amiga org Type: comm/misc Requires: GPFax Architecture: m68k-amigaos This is a test GPFax 2.350 Class 2 update patch. It fixes a couple of problems such as the Leap Year bug, adds better support for Cybergraphics and RTG systems and adds the ability to run with Class 2.0 modems. Note that I have found a number of inconsistancies when using various Class 2.0 modems from USR. If the 2.0 version does not function well, please revert to using the Class 1 verson. There is very little difference in actuality. Class 2 is just a superset of Class 1. Notes for GPFax Class 2/2.0 version 2.350 All previous tooltypes and CLI codes are still supported plus the following CLI operation run gpfax -MUSR2.0 -KCLASS2.0 KCLASS2 -H7WIRE or -HXONXOFF TOOLTYPE ICON MODEMTYPE=USR2.0 FAXCLASS = CLASS2.0 or CLASS2 HANDSHAKE=7WIRE or XONXOFF Only the MODEMTYPE command is needed if used with USR modems. If you use the MODEMTYPE or -M , then this will override the -K -H commands. Be careful of the order in which the program reads the settings. For example, putting -M AFTER -K will cause the faxclass setting to be overridden. Known Problems -------------- With the USR modems, 1. the class 2.0 has some problems when sending. The modem generates non-reproducable responses at certain times and will appear to have sent the page when actuall it has sent absolutely nothing. 2. USR modems report 'strange' error in 2/10 attempts for no apparent reasons. With Zyxel modems Class 2.0 works very quite well but cannot send to Supra modems. Fax received by Supra is garbled. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To update your original program. ENSURE YOU ARE WORKING WITH A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL PROGRAM. To apply the patch, execute the following line from the CLI cd RAM: copy GPFAX:GPFax RAM:old spatch -oGPFax.350 -pG2347c2.pch old This will create the new version of GPFax 2.350 as file GPFax.2350. Then copy the new file to your GPFAX: directory as GPFax. rename GPFax:GPFax GPFax:GPfax.2347 copy ram:GPFax.350 GPFax:GPFax clone ______________________________________________________________________ 20th June 1996 Regards, Dr Greg Perry, GPSoftware, PO Box 570, ASHGROVE QLD 4060 Ph/Fax: +61 7 3366 1402 (Greg Perry) Internet: zzgperry@mailbox.uq.oz.au www: http://www.livewire.com.au/gpsoft/
