Short: A Customizable Space Empire for all BBS's Author: David Prothero, n9346670@henson.cc.wwu.edu Uploader: Dale Frameli, Fido: 1:382/311 0 Type: comm/bbs Version: 2.02 Architecture: m68k-amigaos Dave's Space Empire (DSE) is a BBS "door" game for playing online on an Amiga bulletin board system (BBS). The game is a multi-player game where participants compete to build the largest "space empire". The game involves military strategy, cooperation with other players, and you musn't forget to keep the people in your own empire happy. By purchasing and/or conquering various types of planets, players gain population, the resources of the particular planet, and points. When a player reaches 100,000 points, they become "Space Lord". They do not automatically win, however, they must retain their Space Lord status for one week (seven days). Dave's Space Empire is a "DOS" door game as to make it compatible with as many BBS packages as possible. It may also be run from a CLI window. It supports ANSI colors and IBM graphics, each of which can be turned on/off by each individual user. Also, all menus are ASCII text files that may be changed with any text editor. Also, EVERY message displayed by the game is in one large text file so that SysOps can customize the game and colors of the text as much as possible. This is version 2.02. The original author released the source code and allowed us to debug, globally optimize and generate CPU specific versions (68000/10/20/30/40/60) of DSE. SAS/C v6.58 was used :) A Special Thanks! to Roger Clark for making the required changes. Additional thanks to the original author, David Prothero, for allowing us access to the source code. CYA, Dale
