Short: Use 800x600 on AGA - No Border!!! v1.2 Author: hweight@iinet.net.au (Tony Hasselbacher) Uploader: hweight iinet net au (Tony Hasselbacher) Type: util/wb Version: 1.2 Requires: AGA, OS 3.0 Architecture: m68k-amigaos Use this to run 800x600 on Super 72. Just backup these files of yours first :- - sys:devs/monitors/super72#? - sys:prefs/env-archive/sys/overscan.prefs - sys:prefs/env-archive/sys/screenmode.prefs Then, just replace these files in this archive over your system files, and then reset, and viola, 800x600 in Super72 .. Plus as an added bonus, there ain't much black border. (around 1cm or so :-) ) I even got it to have NO border at all, by switching the "Overscan" Button on the front of my C= 1942 Depending on your monitor, you may have use the Vertical Size to stretch your screen vertically. Tested on:- Works: ====== - C= 1940 Monitor - C= 1942 Monitor - C= 1950 Monitor - Microvitec M1438 - NEC 3D Multisync - Deltascan 1402 Doesn't work on: ================ - C= 1084 (!!) This should work on your multisync monitor. Any dramas, just email me at hweight@iinet.net.au v1.2 update. ============ * Not much this time. Apparently some M1438 Monitors don't like this driver that well. Well, thanks to Oliver Something, he sent me a driver that might help.. Just copy it over the existing super72.info file in the devs:monitors directory. This may work as well for monitors that don't like this.. You never know.. * If you have a Commodore 1950 Monitor, maybe you should try the included overscan.prefs, as it might do something (I dunno, I NEVER seen a A1950). A lot of thanks to Chester Kat for sending this to me .. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- v1.1 update. ============ * This is a small update. Apparently on a C=1950 Monitor, there may be a little problem with the Mouse Pointer. It is double height or something. Well.. here is some pointer presets for you to expirement with.. Many thanks to David Olsson for the presets. * Also some people may find that the colours aren't as bright as they were before. But I think it is a minor thing, just turn your contrast/ brightness up a little, if effected. * Also, another thing may happen is that you may run upon is that at some points it may "loose" around 60 pixels on the right hand side. This is not anything major. This just means that you have to run "iprefs" BEFORE you run the program/app. This usually happens when you boot with no startup, and just run the monitor driver by itself. * Does it work fine on your monitor ?? is your monitor not listed above on the tested part? If so, then please E-Mail me, so I can make a list of which monitors the driver runs on and ones that it won't. * Also, does this run on non-AGA Machines ??? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you into the demo scene ? Do you want a copy from the biggest demo collection ? Could you see all the stuff in the 5000 disks ? Well.. if you do.. check out /demo/mag/SceneArchives.lha or try http://www.iinet.net.au/~hweight and click on the "Scene Archives" link.
