Short: Picasso96 bootpic viewer update 2.3c Author: relaysoft@gmx.de (Heiko Mueller) Uploader: relaysoft gmx de (Heiko Mueller) Type: util/boot Version: 2.3c (25.02.2000) Requires: gfx/board/Picasso96.lha (V1.40) Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.0.0 Kurz: Picasso96 Bootbild-Anzeiger Update 2.3c The default bootpic (Amiga_800x600) and the fitting transfer anim (cube) are not included in this archive. You can download the source images (Amiga_800x600.ilbm and cube.ilbm) from my homepage: http://www.relaysoft.de Das default Bootbild (Amiga_800x600) und die passende Transfer-Anim (cube) sind nicht in diesem Archiv enthalten. If you think, bootpic viewers are slow and cause memory fragmentation, you should give ShowAmiga96 a try: Unlike the others, this viewer saves the pictures as raw-data and can load them directly into the Picasso-bitmap. Another important feature is that the screen only exists in gfx-board memory. So during boot no extra amiga memory is used and fragmentation is minimized. If you think, bootpic viewers must offer many fade effects, a lot of screen action during startup and a handy user interface and have to cause memory fragmentation, you should give ShowAmiga96 a try ;-) This viewer is able to fade from the bootpic to Workbench without a noticable screen switch. While booting, SA96 can display an unlimited number of transfer anims. To configure all viewer settings you use the MUI-based prefs program. Future ??? - logging of startup messages/errors - documentation how to write own effect modules - all these little hints from mailings.... New in v2.3c - The login program now executes the correct .profile (the one in the muFS configuration directory). - Sometimes the autologin feature was activated, even if you pressed DEL or BACKSPACE before. Fixed. - New option (prefs/options/autodebug) which forces ShowAmiga96 to disable itself automatically, if the last boot process could not be completed. In this case SA96 will switch to debug mode (open WB with default displayID, set "echo on" env-variable). - ShowAmiga96 now always opens the Workbench in non-pal mode and moves the boot shell window onto the bootpic screen. This hopefully(!) will avoid problems if a program does some text output into the boot shell. New in v2.3b - The prefs program offers two new options on the login page. Now you can choose to clear the user name field in the login dialog or to use the last users name as default (like in previous versions). The other option automates the login process after a reset. It will only ask you for your user name and password after you turned on the amiga. You can force the login program to show the dialog if you hit the DEL or BACKSPACE key after a reset. - If you use the MultiUserFileSystem, the login program now sets the HOME environment variable, changes to the home dir and executes the .profile script. New in v2.3a - ShowAmiga96 now installs Martin Gierichs HappyENV-Handler - The progressbar saves different settings for every image. - The progressbar offers a color gradient for hi/truecolor images. - A command (bin/PrintProgressText) to change the infotext of the progressbar while executing the startup-sequence. - Two commands (bin/Progressbar_Stop and bin/Progressbar_Go) to pause the progressbar - New Rect fadein module. - Imagelist in main prefs now supports multiselect for delete, convert_image_format and changes of effect selection - Routine to convert existing images into new format. - Possibility to interrupt the startup-sequence - ShowAmiga96 no longer works with CGX New in v2.3 - action modules "Anim", "ProgressBar", "WindowsCycle" (thanks to Olaf Krafft for the rotating AMIGA-cube) - fadeover module "Flow" - execute DOS-commands (e.g. play16) at certain "Events" - MultiUserFileSystem/PFS2 login program/dialog - swedish catalog (thanks to Henrik Cednert Fredriksson) New in v2.2 - support of 32bit screens - manual screenmode selection possible - pictures will be scaled to screen size - two real fadeover modules for hi/truecolor screens New in v2.1 - now SA96 works with DOpus!!! (sorry, it was my fault) - removed some minor bugs and many enforcer hits in the prefs program - spanisch catalog and guide (thanks to Juan Carlos Marcos Rodriguez) - now works with MCP´s PopPubScreen function New in v2.0 - MUI based prefs program (localized) - no size/format limitations - different bootpics possible (random selection) - fader/wipes modules - new close condition (pixelcolor) - earlier start in startup-sequence - and much much more...
