Short: EaglePlayer "Silmarils" external replayer Author: Wanted Team Uploader: wt jho pol pl (Don Adan/Wanted Team) Type: mus/play Version: 1 Architecture: m68k-amigaos This is a new external "Silmarils" module replay for EaglePlayer 1.54/2.00+. It's a replayer for all (?) modules which were used in (Amiga) Silmarils games from the years 1989-92. Version 1 Features: - Analyzer - Voices - SampleInfo with SampleSaver (EP 2.00+ only) - SubSong - Balance - ModuleInfo with Position Counter - Volume - SongEnd - fixes for bugs in some songdata files Notes: 1. This soundformat was used only (?) in Silmarils games from "Targhan" to "Ishar I" (ECS). The newer Silmarils games (from 1993-94) use a modified (split) tracker format. 2. This player uses the WaitAudioDMA function so you can change the wait method in the EP Timing submenu and set the correct values for your particular Amiga CPU and/or screen mode. EP's "Automatic Wait" option does not work correctly for Amigas with some of the more advanced screen modes (DblPAL, Productivity, etc) and some graphics card screen modes. Therefore, it is best to use the "Raster Wait" mode and set the raster value to at least 16 and save this wait mode as the default. Without these changes the player can "miss" some notes in some Silmarils mods depending on the active screen mode. The "DBF Loops" method can also be used, but the correct value depends on your Amiga CPU speed and it is therefore not recommended. 3. Silmarils' soundformat is a 3 voice MIDI clone with a built-in sample depacking routine. It was one of the hardest players to make. Aside from ripping and adapting the player routine it was also necessary to rip and adapt part of Silmarils' interpreter code. 4. Some Silmarils modules may use an external "main file" but only modules from the game "Boston Bomb Club" are known to use this feature at the present time. In order to play/load these files an underscore character "_" must be in the correct place in the songdata file name. For example, if the main file is named: MOK.BostonBombClub then any songdata files must be named in the following style: MOK.BostonBombClub_??? (for example, MOK.BostonBombClub_title) 5. If you have (or know of) unsupported Silmarils modules please contact Wanted Team. 6. If you have the (unpublished?) Silmarils game called "Xyphoes Fantasy" (either the full version or a demo) please contact Wanted Team. 7. This player works only with uninitialized Silmarils mods ripped directly from disks. You can easily rip Silmarils mods from all their games. All you have to do is decrunch the files with the Silmarils decruncher slave for the xfdmaster library. 8.
