Short: 2D Finite Element modeler and solvers (VER 2.00) Uploader: leighton rktek1 ple af mil Type: misc/sci Architecture: m68k-amigaos TITLE Ami2D VERSION 2.00 AUTHOR Russell Leighton E-Mail: leighton@rktek1.ple.af.mil DESCRIPTION Ami2D forms the core of a collection of codes developed to perform various analyses on structures using the finite element technique. Specifically, Ami2D is a pre/post-processor used to create two dimensional finite element models and to interpret the results from subsequent solutions. It was developed to handle both "plane" and axisymmetric two dimensional finite element analysis problems. It is a fairly general capability in the sense that a wide variety of two dimensional problems can be modeled by Ami2D. Other codes are included to provide a fairly complete analysis capability. These codes include the solvers (Lin2D and Nln2D), a node equivilence code (Equ2D), a node order optimizer (Opt2D), and a couple of ancillary codes (Rexxcon and Rexxbar). Of course, the user is free to utilize other utility codes to enhance the operation and functionality of this collection. NEW FEATURES * Enhanced graphical interface * Display mode selectable (graphics boards supported) * Group creation/manipulation * Support for laminated (composite) materials * Globally or locally referenced material properties * Separate post-processor * Result vector plots (magnitude and direction) * Many bug fixes :-) SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS The minimum system requirements for running the codes are: A 68020 processor or better, 68881 floating point processor or better, AmigaDOS 2.04 or higher, ARexx and at least 2 megabytes of free RAM. Optionally, a hard drive and lots more memory are highly desirable. INSTALLATION First, you must have Commodore's Installer utility in 'SYS:Utilities'. If not then download it from AMINET ('util/misc/Installer-1.25.lzh') and install it. To install Ami2D, unpack the archive in a temporary location (like RAM:) then double click on the Install_Ami2D icon (located in 'ami2d_dist') and follow directions. After the installation is complete the files unpacked from the archive may be removed.
