Short: Z80 emulation package for the 680x0 Uploader: m90rca tdb uu se Type: misc/emu Architecture: m68k-amigaos Zilog Z80 CPU emulator package for the Motorola M68000 family Version 0.99b Author: Richard Carlsson The emulator package is freeware. It is coded entirely in 680x0 assembler, and is probably the fastest existing Z80 emulator for this processor family, while retaining complete generality. It was developed on an Amiga, but should be possible to use on any 680x0-based computer without any modifications. These are big words, but as an example I use it to emulate a ZX Spectrum on my Amiga. Run on a 68030/40 it is slightly faster than an ordinary Spectrum, and still the main Z80 emulation code does not contain anything Amiga- or Spectrum-specific. This archive contains the assembler sources and some compiled (Amiga DOS) object files. This is the first public release, and is only a beta testing version. Most things are working very well, however, and apart from bug fixes there will probably not be any major changes. I will particularly try to keep the interface as stable as possible, so don't hesitate to begin using it in a project. A word of advice: Unless you are hell-bent on it, don't make another Spectrum emulator for the Amiga. PeterMcGavin's emulator already does most of what you want, so you're better off just sending him (or me) your ideas. Enjoy, and remember the good old days of Z80 hacking!
